Chief Bode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed grave concern over the party’s internal challenges, attributing them to selfish interests among members. Speaking at a press conference marking his 79th birthday, George called for urgent action to address the party’s issues ahead of its National Convention. He warned that the PDP risks disaster in the 2027 elections unless it unites and stops disloyal members from destabilizing the party.
George criticized party members who are working for the ruling APC while still holding positions within the PDP, describing them as “chameleonic characters” undermining the party’s future. He stressed the importance of unity, equity, and fairness to prevent a self-destructive path. With Nigeria facing socio-economic challenges, George believes that the PDP is the only party that can save the country from the current crisis and urged leaders across the country to come together at the upcoming PDP NEC meeting to ensure the party’s success in 2027.
