In a recent incident in Niger State, a bride decided to abandon her wedding gown and flee into the wilderness to escape abduction. The unfortunate event occurred while she was being escorted from a village in Paikoro LGA to Kuta, the headquarters of Shiroro LGA. The convoy came under attack by bandits near Kaffin-Koro in Paikoro LGA.
We were escorting the bride to Kuta from my village, said a sister of the bride who asked that her name not be used in City & Crime. We were attacked by bandits when we drew near Kaffin-Koro.
In one of the cars behind me, my sister was wearing her wedding dress. She took it off right away. We were being pursued by the bandits in the forest. After being taken hostage, two of the bride’s companions managed to flee. There was no way to reschedule the wedding. The nuptials were delayed.
