Buhari Farms 4 Days Weekly

Garba Shehu, the former media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, has disclosed that his former boss has been dedicating his time away from the office to manage his farm in Daura, Katsina State.

In a statement titled ‘One Hundred Days after Buhari,’ released on Thursday, Shehu explained that President Buhari chose to remain in Daura to avoid causing distractions to the new administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, with the hope that the distance would provide him with a peaceful environment for rest.

The statement read, “He spends four days a week working on his farm and is pleased with the progress of his crops and livestock. While he enjoys a good rest, his routine visits continue. To streamline these visits, a weekly program has been organized, much like when he was at the Villa.”

Shehu also mentioned that the former President receives numerous “special guests” that include loyal party members, grassroots organizations, farmers, artisans, artists, traditional praise singers, healthcare professionals, religious leaders, community heads, and various other professionals.

Furthermore, Shehu addressed critics who have been reluctant to acknowledge the achievements of Buhari’s tenure in office, stating, “During the last eight years, there hasn’t been a single aspect untouched by the Buhari administration. We have witnessed significant positive transformations, yet some choose to remain oblivious to these accomplishments. It’s often said that it’s harder to awaken someone pretending to be asleep than someone who is genuinely asleep.”

Shehu also criticized those who had previously criticized Buhari’s administration, accusing them of promoting theft and corruption when they had the opportunity to govern. He mentioned a particular critic who had served as a Military Governor in a Northern State, highlighting allegations of misappropriation of public funds. Shehu emphasized that these critics had failed to address the issue of rising crime rates in Kaduna and other areas when they assumed power.

In conclusion, Shehu stated that former President Buhari has fulfilled his role and left office, leaving it to history to judge his legacy, which he believes will be fair. He also commended the political acumen of President Tinubu, suggesting that he would see through the façade of these critics.
