Buhari, Sanwo-Olu, Others Hail Tinubu @ 72

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has sent warm birthday greetings to President Bola Tinubu, who turns 72 today, Friday, March 29, 2024. Commending Tinubu for his efforts in tackling the nation’s challenges, Buhari conveyed his well wishes through a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

Tinubu had requested a low-key celebration, citing recent security challenges, including the tragic killings of army officers and policemen in Delta State. Despite the subdued festivities, the Presidency revealed that Tinubu plans to use the occasion to reflect on Nigeria’s future and recommit himself to nation-building.

In response to Buhari’s message, Deputy Senate President Senator Jibrin Barau praised Tinubu as a visionary leader and key figure in Nigeria’s democratic struggle. Similarly, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen hailed Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a “grandmaster of progressive politics.”

Echoing the sentiment, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu lauded Tinubu’s pragmatic approach in steering the country towards economic recovery. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also lauded Tinubu’s contributions to Lagos’ economic growth and development, emphasizing his financial acumen and leadership prowess.

Meanwhile, Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara recognized Tinubu’s role in championing democracy and national unity, praying for his continued good health and service to the nation.

In a show of bipartisan support, lawmakers at the Lagos State House of Assembly commended Tinubu’s transformative policies, highlighting his instrumental role in elevating Lagos State to its current status as a global economic hub.

As President Tinubu celebrates his 72nd birthday amidst reflections and aspirations for a better Nigeria, well-wishes continue to pour in from across the political spectrum, underscoring his enduring influence and significance in Nigerian politics.
