This selection highlights the top talents who showcased their skills and prowess on the pitch throughout the competition. Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Cote d’Ivoire feature prominently in CAF’s AFCON 2023 best XI.

Unveiled by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the AFCON 2023 team of the tournament doesn’t include Victor Osimhen and Alex Iwobi.
The squad, disclosed on Wednesday, highlights Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire, who displayed remarkable performances in the tournament.

Representing Nigeria are William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, and Ademola Lookman, the team’s top scorer with three goals.
Despite Osimhen’s pivotal role, scoring only once in seven matches, he missed out on selection, as did Iwobi, who failed to register a goal or assist.

For the Elephants, midfielders Franck Kessie and Jean Seri shine, with Ronwen Williams named the standout goalkeeper. The team also includes players from South Africa, Congo, and Equatorial Guinea.
