Catholic Priest’s Mysterious Death Raises Questions After Night in Hotel with A Woman

Authorities have launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a 43-year-old Catholic Priest, Joseph Kariuki Wanjiku, who passed away shortly after checking into a hotel with his lover.

The incident took place on Friday, July 8, 2023, when the priest checked into Monalisa Hotel Delview in Gatanga accompanied by a 32-year-old woman. According to a police report, the priest suddenly experienced dizziness, prompting his companion to seek assistance from the hotel management. They quickly transported him to Kenol Hospital in Murang’a, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The unexpected nature of the priest’s demise has raised suspicions, leading authorities to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. The police report revealed that Joseph Kariuki Wanjiku, a Catholic priest from St. Peters Ruai, checked into the hotel with his colleague, who was also his girlfriend.

The report stated, “Then, this morning (Saturday) at around 0800hrs, the priest’s girlfriend notified the hotel management that the boyfriend was dizzy and getting unconscious so that they could rush him to the hospital. They then rushed him to Kenol Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.”

As the investigation unfolds, authorities will delve deeper into the events leading up to the priest’s untimely passing to determine the cause and shed light on any underlying factors surrounding the incident.
