Renowned Nigerian entertainer and socio-political activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has voiced his opinion on the controversy surrounding Mmesoma Ejikeme’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) score. Mmesoma, a schoolgirl from Anambra, initially claimed to have scored 362, the highest in the 2023 UTME examination. However, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) accused her of forging her result.
In response to the situation, Charly Boy expressed his surprise and called for a fair investigation. He stated that it was concerning that Mmesoma’s result, obtained from the JAMB portal, could be labeled as fake without a proper inquiry by the examination board.
Disputing the accusation, Mmesoma strongly refuted any involvement in result manipulation, asserting that she lacked the capability to alter her own scores.
Charly Boy, addressing the issue on Monday night via his Twitter account, expressed doubts regarding JAMB’s claim. He urged the examination board to provide Mmesoma’s examination papers for external remarking by an independent body.
He tweeted, “JAMB must produce her paper for an external body to remark. I don’t trust the mark they claim they awarded her right now.
“JAMB has ended up making the young girl popular and the girl on the other hand exposed JAMB corruption & ineptitude just like INEC.”
