Court Dismisses Application to Stop #EndBadGovernance Protests

The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed an application seeking to stop the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests, which occurred across Nigeria from August 1 to 10. The case, brought by Danladi Goje and others, sought an interim injunction to prevent further demonstrations under the protest banner.

Presiding Judge Peter Lifu dismissed the motion, noting that the protests had already concluded, and there was no evidence suggesting they would resume. The judge criticized the applicants for rushing the ex parte motion without adequate supporting documents and ruled that the application lacked merit.

The next hearing on the related motion is set for August 29, 2024.
