courts charges conductor for removing passenger’s teeth

Azeez Balogun, an 18-year-old conductor, stood before an Ikeja magistrates’ court on Thursday for allegedly beating up a passenger and knocking out two of his teeth.

The complainant, Mr. Shina Olarewaju, boarded a commercial bus from Ile-Epo to Abule-Egba on June 24, and a fight broke out between him and the defendant over a N100 change, according to the prosecution, ASP Raji Akeem, who testified in court.

The defendant, according to the prosecutor, pulled the complainant to the ground, beat him, pulled out two of his teeth, and tore his clothes.

The accused entered a not-guilty plea.

Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, the magistrate, granted the sum of N20,000 with two sureties, and adjourned the case to August 8.
