Cubana Chief Priest Speaks Out After Bail: “Money Na Water”

Pascal Okechukwu, famously known as Cubana Chief Priest, has broken his silence following his release on bail after meeting the N10 million bail condition with two sureties. The businessman and socialite took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received, asserting his financial prowess with a confident statement.

In an Instagram post shortly after his arraignment, Okechukwu declared, “Seeing all your messages and love. I’m so humbled. Now it’s confirmed CP (Cubana Priest) is not small. Money na water (sic).” This bold proclamation underscores his resilience in the face of legal challenges, reaffirming his larger-than-life persona.

The Federal High Court in Lagos State had earlier granted Okechukwu bail on the condition of N10 million with two sureties in like sum. The celebrity barman pleaded not guilty to charges of tampering and abusing the naira during his trial before Justice Kehinde Ogundare.

The charges against Cubana Chief Priest include allegations of spraying and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social event, in violation of the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007. It was reported that he allegedly sprayed the naira at Eko Hotel on February 13, 2024, during a social gathering, and also tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 notes issued by the CBN.
