Renowned Nigerian musician Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake, has revealed that his choice to pursue a career in music over dance was primarily motivated by his financial ambitions.
In a recent interview, Asake clarified that he decided to focus on a music career because he was uncertain whether dancing would provide him with the level of financial success he desired.
He explained, “The reason I left dance is for my love for money. I want to be very honest. Dance is something that I love. But I’m not sure dance can give me the kind of money I want.”
Asake further elaborated, “Even if you want to make it so gangster-like and there are so many people bumping, you still need to use the dancers. So, as they work together, I think for the love of money, I’d rather be singing.”
When asked if he would reconsider dancing if it offered significant success in the future, the singer responded, “No, I would join music and dance together so I will have more money.”
