Delta Police detain teenager for raising false alarm of manhood disappearance

Sunday Ebube Linus, a teenager, was detained by the Delta State Police Command for making a fraudulent report on the disappearance of his manhood.

While verifying Linus’ arrest, DSP Bright Edafe, the police public relations officer for the state command, cautioned the public against using jungle justice to punish offenders or criminals.

The 18-year-old suspect, Ebube Linus, reported a false alert on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at DBS Road Asaba that an elderly woman inside a tricycle touched him and his manhood (penis) disappeared, the PPRO posted on his X (previously Twitter) account on Wednesday.

Over 100 confused touts surrounded the woman, stripped her nude, and beat her into a coma to the point of almost killing her, according to the PPRO.
In addition, the police spokesman stated, “The Command was contacted, and the DPO GRA division Asaba led policemen to the scene, rescued the woman, and arrested the suspect, who we later discovered that nothing was wrong with him, as his manhood is intact.”

In a statement, the PPRO claimed that “Linus just lied against a poor woman, a mother, a daughter, and a wife, and now, the video of her being beaten and stripped naked is all over the internet.”
“Is this even logical? Why start a self-help program? The police spokesman questioned, “Why jungle justice?

However, he added that Linus, the suspect, will be apprehended and convicted along with any other people seen in the video that the police are looking for.
