The Burutu North Constituency rerun election in Delta State was proclaimed the winner on Sunday by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, Returning Officer, Arnold Adimabua Osugo. The candidate of Hon. Ebitonmo Anthony Alapala was pronounced the victor.
In the election results sheet, Osugo verified that Alapala of the All Progressives Congress (APC) received 7,728 votes, while Hon. Asupa Forteta of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 6,616 votes, which was his nearest opponent.
reporters received a copy of the election results via WhatsApp from INEC’s Head of Publicity and Enlightenment.
He claimed that the office in Asaba is receiving the results of the rerun election for the Ethiopia-West Constituency. In addition, he pledged to send the Ethiopia-West results as soon as he got them.
There were no reports of violence related to the election anywhere in Burutu North at the time this report was written.
