The Delta State Police Command has detained three people for allegedly possessing heavy narcotics.
Three of the suspects, Lucky Emmanuel (40), Enunwuune Snu (46), and Jacob Efedeye (32), were apprehended in Asaba in a Toyota Hiace.
The cops seized three cartons containing 100 codeine bottles and 400 tramadol sachets.
The police further said that Fidelis Akpos (23), a resident of the Ewhu community in Ughelli South LGA, was apprehended on the Kwale-Ogwashi-Uku Expressway in a commercial Sienna bus with a locally made pistol and two live cartridges hidden inside a plastic bag holding smoked fish.
The Command, commanded by CP Ari Muhammed Ali, confirmed the claim in a statement signed by DSP Bright Edafe, the command’s spokesperson.
