Dinesh Balsingh Named New CEO of Airtel Nigeria

Airtel Nigeria has appointed Dinesh Balsingh as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. This announcement, made in a statement by Femi Adeniran, Director of Corporate Communications and CSR at Airtel Nigeria, confirms that Balsingh took over the role on November 1, 2024, succeeding Carl Cruz, who resigned to return to the Philippines.

Balsingh brings extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, having previously served as Managing Director and CEO of Airtel Tanzania. Before his move to Tanzania, he was Chief Commercial Officer at Airtel Nigeria, giving him a deep understanding of the Nigerian telecom market. He first joined Airtel Nigeria in 2013 as Marketing Director, following leadership roles at Airtel India and Tata Docomo.

Sunil Taldar, CEO of Airtel Africa, highlighted Balsingh’s experience and operational expertise, noting his critical role in advancing Airtel Nigeria’s mission to transform lives across the country. Balsingh holds an MBA from the Thiagarajar School of Management.
