The exchange rate between the Dollar and the Naira has changed again. As of today, Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the official rate from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is ₦1,611.55 per Dollar. This is a small gain compared to ₦1,612.23 recorded on Monday.
However, in the black market, the usdt is going for ₦1,613, which is slightly higher. This is happening even though the CBN says there’s now only one main market where usdt can be bought and sold — the Investors & Exporters (I&E) window. The CBN had earlier said all other exchange windows have been joined into one to make things simpler and more transparent.

With these changes, the Naira is now floating, meaning its value will rise or fall based on how much people want to buy or sell it. The CBN says banks can still help with school fees, travel allowance, and medical expenses. All Dollar deals will now be done openly and under clear rules.
