The Department of State Services (DSS) has advised Muslims in Nigeria to exercise caution during the festive period, emphasizing the importance of personal security. In a statement issued on Saturday, Peter Afunanya, Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications, highlighted the need for heightened vigilance during religious and social activities.
The DSS called on operators and patrons of public places such as malls, parks, and railway stations to adhere strictly to security measures to ensure public safety. The statement, titled “Eid-el-Kabir: DSS cautions celebrants to be vigilant,” urged prompt reporting of any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities.
The DSS assured continued collaboration with other security agencies to ensure smooth celebrations. It provided contact details for reporting concerns and extended well wishes to the Muslim community, emphasizing the importance of faith, obedience, and generosity as foundations for national unity and transformation.
