Reinstated Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has warned Governor Godwin Obaseki, threatening to expose alleged wrongdoings if the governor’s supporters continue to insult him. Shaibu, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this statement after attending Sunday Mass at the Catholic Bishops‘ Conference in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area.
Shaibu revealed that he had endured Obaseki’s actions for over 15 months but now feels compelled to speak out. He accused the governor of mistaking his silence for weakness and threatened to disclose several misdeeds, including actions that contradict servant leadership principles. These include revoking land titles from poor citizens, demolishing homes of opposition politicians, and other alleged injustices.
The deputy governor also urged religious leaders and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to avoid political influence and to hold politicians accountable. He emphasized the need for the Christian community to stand against injustice and maintain their faith’s integrity, free from political affiliations.
