The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, to resolve their differences and give peace a chance. The party expressed concern about the public nature of their disputes, especially the publication of official letters on social media.
The PDP’s National Vice Chairman (South) and former chairman of the party in Edo State, Chief Dan Orbih, issued a statement urging both parties to exercise restraint and resolve their differences quietly. He emphasized the importance of unity within the party, especially with the gubernatorial election scheduled for next year.
The ongoing disputes between Governor Obaseki and Deputy Governor Shaibu have raised concerns about their impact on the image and fortunes of the PDP in Edo State. Orbih called on both parties to cease hostilities and work towards an amicable resolution of their differences.
The political dynamics in Edo State have been closely watched, and the PDP is keen on maintaining its strong brand in the state. The party hopes that the governor and deputy governor can find common ground to avoid further damage to the party’s image ahead of the upcoming election.
