Veteran rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has come out to clear the air about his new song Tell Your Papa. Many people thought it was a personal attack on Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, but Eedris says that’s not true. He explained that the song was inspired by something Seyi said in March 2025 while visiting Yola. Seyi had praised his father, calling him the best president, and that speech pushed Abdulkareem to reply through music.

Speaking in an interview on Channels TV, Eedris said he only wanted to send a message. “The youths are not asking for too much—just light, jobs, security, and a good economy,” he said. He added that if Seyi hadn’t spoken so proudly about his father, the song wouldn’t have happened. Eedris even advised Seyi to stay away from the microphone next time, saying he didn’t speak well and didn’t understand the true suffering of Nigerians.
Eedris also said it’s not fair that Seyi is enjoying life while many young Nigerians are struggling. He challenged Seyi to travel by road without security so he can understand the pain of the people. Meanwhile, his song has been banned from radio and TV by the National Broadcasting Commission, which called it inappropriate.
