The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reported the arrest of five individuals on August 24, 2023. They are accused of utilizing counterfeit letterheads from the Offices of the National Security Adviser and the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to unlawfully obtain money from unsuspecting individuals.
The arrested individuals are Yakubu Mohammed, Bashir Ladan, Adamu Ibrahim, Steven Anom, and Mohammed Bello.
According to Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesperson for the EFCC, the suspects allegedly collaborated to create fraudulent employment and recommendation letters using the fake letterheads, charging a fee to unknowing members of the public.
Upon conclusion of the investigation, the EFCC plans to bring charges against the suspects in court.
