EFCC Arrests Bobrisky Over Alleged Naira Abuse

findwhosabiblog.comIn a stunning development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended and detained the controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, famously known as Bobrisky, on charges related to the abuse of the Nigerian currency, spraying of naira notes, and currency mutilation.

Bobrisky, whose recent activities have stirred up multiple controversies, was arrested in Lagos on Wednesday night and has been held in custody at the EFCC’s Lagos Command since then.

Confirming the arrest in a telephone interview on Thursday, the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, affirmed that Bobrisky would face legal action, stating, “Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command. We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying of naira notes, and currency mutilation, among others.”

Oyewale emphasized the EFCC’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the Nigerian currency, stressing that despite ongoing investigations, Bobrisky would soon be charged to court.

In an official statement titled “EFCC Grills Bobrisky for Naira Abuse,” shared on its social media platforms, the EFCC disclosed, “Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have commenced investigation of Idris Okuneye, a.k.a Bobrisky, for allegedly spraying Naira notes.”

The statement revealed that Bobrisky was summoned following a video report showing him flaunting and spraying new Naira notes at the premiere of a movie in Lagos on March 24, 2024. It further detailed other instances of similar offenses allegedly committed by Bobrisky at various event centers and parties.

Upon his invitation by the Commission, Bobrisky presented himself at the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Command on Wednesday morning for questioning and provided his statements. The EFCC indicated that he would face charges in court once investigations are concluded.
