Nigerian singer Ego, once renowned as a backup singer for Lagbaja, is mourning the loss of her husband, Niyi Ogbaro. According to Nigerian journalist Chris Kehinde, Ogbaro passed away in the United States on Wednesday. Kehinde shared a photo of the couple on his Instagram page along with the message: “Ohh No, Victor Niyi Ogbaro, this can’t be true. Victor, the husband of Ego, passed away today from what I just learned. May his soul Rest In Peace.”
Ego, whose birth name is Nwakaego Iheanacho, had married Ogbaro in 2009, although they had been living apart for some time. Prior to her husband’s passing, Ego had removed Ogbaro from her social media accounts, leading to speculation about marital difficulties.
