On Sunday night, terrorists attacked the Danmusa Local Government Area in Katsina State, resulting in five fatalities and no less than 12 injuries.
In a separate incident, gunmen in Kaduna State’s Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area killed three individuals.
Five residents were taken hostage during the Katsina invasion.
Abubakar Aliyu, the spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, stated, “The event happened at 10 o’clock. Our men are keeping an eye on the situation there, and we have already started an investigation.
The terrorists assaulted the town, according to the locals, and began firing from the edges of the settlements.
The efforts of the security personnel and the vigilantes prevented further casualties, a resident claimed.
Nasiru Muazu, the Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security, referred to the occurrence as regrettable and said that the state government would continue to place a high priority on the security of its residents.
“The Danmusa incident was unfortunate,” he stated. The number of casualties would have been higher if not for the actions of our community corps and other security personnel who resisted the terrorists. Even the council’s security has been bolstered.
The terrorists murdered two commercial drivers, Mustapha Adamu and Malam Muktar, as well as a local hunter named Bashir Shekarau in Kaduna.
“On Wednesday, hunters were attacked. The bandits killed one of them. Additionally, two commercial drivers who were going back to Birnin-Gwari on Saturday were shot and killed. The gunfire fired by the bandits also struck another driver. Three fatalities total occurred between Wednesday and Saturday, according to a local.
Mansir Hassan, the police spokesperson in Kaduna, responded when contacted, “I am in a program please.”
