The Lagos State government has announced the closure of Eko Bridge for urgent repairs starting Monday, September 16. This eight-week operation, led by the Federal Ministry of Works, will see the bridge fully reopened by mid-November.
State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, shared that the repairs will be done in four phases, affecting traffic flow. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as Funsho Williams Avenue, Costain, and Third Mainland Bridge. Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officers will be deployed to ease disruptions during this period.
