The Kaduna State House Committee on Information, chaired by Henry Marah Zachariah, has accused former Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s administration of looting over N423 billion from the state’s resources between 2015 and 2023. The allegations were reported by Findwhosabi News and involve several of El-Rufai’s aides.
In response, El-Rufai denied the claims, asserting his integrity in serving the state. However, the House of Assembly has urged Governor Uba Sani to refer those indicted, including former commissioners, agency heads, and accountants-general, to security agencies for further investigation.
Marah, in an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, criticized El-Rufai’s administration for corruption and lack of integrity. He highlighted the state’s increased debt under El-Rufai, noting that while the state’s debt was $235 million at the start of El-Rufai’s term, it rose to $758 million by the end. Marah also mentioned numerous abandoned projects and questioned the integrity of El-Rufai’s governance.
