“Electoral Body Affirms Omoaje as National Chairman of Action Alliance”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially acknowledged Hon Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as the legitimate national chairman of the Action Alliance (AA). INEC has updated its website, replacing the name of Kenneth Obidiche Udeze with Omoaje’s as the national chairman.

This decision follows the rulings of several competent courts, including the Ogun State High Court, the Federal High Court in Abuja, and the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal, which ordered INEC to recognize Omoaje as the national chairman.

Despite these court orders, INEC had previously recognized Udeze as the party’s national chairman. However, Udeze had been suspended and expelled from the party in accordance with the party’s constitution and the approval of the think tank committee.

Omoaje emerged as the national chairman of the AA during a legally constituted convention held in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. Despite multiple court judgments in Omoaje’s favor, Udeze continued to claim the position of national chairman.

On Tuesday, INEC rectified its stance and formally acknowledged Omoaje as the genuine national chairman. His name has been published on the commission’s website, and INEC has instructed all state and local government offices to recognize Omoaje as the national chairman of the AA.

With this development, Omoaje will be responsible for presenting candidates for upcoming elections in Bayelsa, Kogi, and other parts of the country.

Expressing his response to this progress, Omoaje, the national chairman of the party, stated that the AA would persevere despite the challenges caused by Udeze’s unlawful actions. He expressed gratitude to the party leaders and members across the 36 states of the country for their support, affirming his commitment to upholding the party’s principles and objectives.
