We’ve now entered the crucial final stretch of the season across Europe, with the fate of several major football league titles likely to be determined in April and May.
In the Premier League and Bundesliga, the gap between the top two teams is significant enough that we already have a strong sense of which clubs are poised to clinch the title.
Conversely, La Liga and Serie A are shaping up to deliver dramatic finishes, with their respective title races expected to go down to the wire. The same can’t be said for Ligue 1, where Paris Saint-Germain claimed their fourth consecutive league title last weekend after a narrow 1-0 victory over Angers, giving them an unassailable 22-point lead over second-placed Marseille.
With just weeks remaining in the 2024/25 football calendar, here’s a rundown of when each league title could be officially decided in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and Bundesliga.
Premier League: Liverpool Closing in on Title Glory
Liverpool currently boast the largest lead among all first-place teams in the featured leagues. The Reds sit 11 points ahead of Arsenal with only seven fixtures left, putting them on course to capture their 20th top-flight English title before the end of April. A haul of 12 points from their next four matches would mathematically secure the title—so wins against West Ham, Leicester, Tottenham, and Chelsea could confirm their triumph by 4 May, assuming Arsenal also win all four of their upcoming matches.

However, the title could be wrapped up even earlier. If Liverpool defeat West Ham this Sunday and Arsenal collect no more than a single point in their next two games against Brentford and Ipswich, Liverpool could secure the championship with a win over Leicester at the King Power Stadium on 20 April.
Bundesliga: Kane on the Brink of First Major Trophy
Bayern Munich, who already have 33 Bundesliga titles under their belt, are looking to reclaim their crown after Bayer Leverkusen ended their 11-year streak with an unbeaten campaign last season. Under Vincent Kompany, Bayern now hold a six-point lead over Leverkusen with six matches remaining.

With both teams unbeaten in their last three league fixtures, Bayern’s upcoming clash against Borussia Dortmund this Saturday poses a significant challenge. If Bayern win their next three games and Leverkusen earn no more than three points during the same stretch, the earliest Bayern could lift the trophy is 26 April.

Should both clubs maintain winning form, Bayern would still be able to secure the title with just a draw against Borussia Monchengladbach on 10 May. This would mark a monumental moment for Harry Kane, who—at 31 years old—would finally capture the first major trophy of his career, having already scored an astounding 59 goals in 58 Bundesliga appearances.
La Liga: Barcelona in Control Ahead of El Clasico Showdown
Barcelona have recently widened their lead at the top of La Liga to four points, taking advantage of Real Madrid’s patchy form. Madrid’s recent 2-1 home loss to Valencia was a major setback, further compounded by a humbling 3-0 Champions League defeat to Arsenal, which has left their season hanging in the balance.

The upcoming El Clasico clash on 11 May, hosted by Barcelona, could prove decisive. Should both teams win their next four matches, a victory for Barcelona in that fixture would seal their 28th La Liga title in dramatic fashion.
Any further slip-ups by Madrid could mean that even a draw in El Clasico would be enough for Barca. Atletico Madrid remain in contention, sitting just three points behind Real, but a seven-point deficit to Barcelona appears too steep to overcome at this stage.

If Madrid manage to beat Barcelona, the title race could be thrown wide open again—depending on prior results. Despite the uncertainties, Barcelona remain heavy favourites to win La Liga.
Serie A: Inter and Napoli Set for a Final-Day Decider
Inter Milan are leading the charge for what would be their third Serie A title in five seasons. They currently sit three points ahead of reigning champions Napoli, with seven matches left to play. Both teams stumbled with draws over the weekend, and the pressure is mounting as neither can afford further mistakes.

Inter face a challenging schedule, with upcoming matches against fourth-placed Bologna and seventh-placed Roma. Additionally, their commitments in both the Coppa Italia and Champions League mean they must navigate a congested fixture list across three competitions.

Napoli, on the other hand, are fully focused on Serie A and enjoy a more favourable run-in. They will only face one top-ten opponent—Torino, who sit 10th—for the remainder of the season. This advantage could help keep the title race alive until the very last day, 25 May, when Napoli will host relegation-threatened Cagliari and Inter will travel to face mid-table Como.
