Lokoja, [Current Date] – In a surprising turn of events, Yahaya Ododo, a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ankpa Local Government Area, has announced his resignation from the party and his subsequent membership with the Action Alliance (AA). Ododo cited the pressing need to uphold equity, fairness, and justice in the upcoming governorship race in Kogi State as the primary motivation behind his decision.
Ododo’s announcement was made public through a statement issued on Monday morning in Lokoja. In his statement, he asserted that the current administration in Kogi State had come to power by chance, emphasizing that it is now Kogi-West’s turn to produce the next governor of the state.
Highlighting his support for the Action Alliance, Ododo singled out Otunba Braimoh as the candidate with a substantial manifesto capable of alleviating the longstanding poverty that has plagued Kogi State. He declared, “Among all the governorship candidates, only Otunba Braimoh has a rich manifesto that can lift the state out of poverty that has ravaged it for years.”
Ododo also revealed that other notable figures, including Hon. Samuel Omale, a former PDP stalwart in Ojoku ward, and members of the All Progressives Congress, have defected to the Action Alliance. He emphasized their commitment to realizing the wealth creation program of the governorship candidate.
In response to the growing support, Otunba Braimoh expressed his determination to lead Kogi State out of poverty. He outlined his STAT Agenda, which focuses on Solid Minerals Development, Trade, Agriculture, Trade, and Tourism, as a blueprint to bring prosperity to the state. Braimoh appealed for more support from Ankpa electorate as he seeks to rescue the state from its economic challenges.
As the governorship election in Kogi State draws near, these political realignments could play a significant role in shaping the outcome of the race.
