Prominent Nigerian lawyer Femi Falana has voiced his opinion that Pastor Enoch Adeboye, leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), is more focused on establishing business centers than religious institutions. Speaking in an interview with Sahara TV, Falana suggested that Adeboye’s approach to opening churches within walking distance for worshippers reflects a business-driven model rather than genuine spiritual expansion.

Falana highlighted that Pastor Adeboye recently discussed plans to open additional church branches to ensure people could easily access one nearby. While some may view this as an effort to make religious services more accessible, Falana interprets it as an attempt to build more business centers, arguing that the proliferation of churches may not always align with the true purpose of faith institutions.

The lawyer cautioned Nigerians to differentiate between religiosity and authentic spirituality, emphasizing that unchecked church expansion could blur the lines between religious institutions and business ventures. His remarks have sparked discussions around the commercialization of religion and the need for a balanced approach to faith and spirituality in society.
