Tragedy struck on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as four individuals lost their lives and three others sustained injuries in a horrific accident involving a luxury bus and a truck.
Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer for Ogun State Sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the tragic incident. According to her statement, the accident occurred when a luxury bus collided with a truck, resulting in the loss of four lives and leaving three individuals injured.
The collision took place on a section of the expressway near the “Kara” axis, as the truck reportedly failed to stop after the bus rammed into it while negotiating a bend. In total, 21 people were involved in the accident, comprising 13 men and eight women.
In the aftermath of the accident, the deceased victims’ bodies have been transferred to a morgue located in the Sagamu area of Ogun State. Meanwhile, the injured survivors have been transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
This tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety measures and the need for vigilance while traveling on the nation’s highways.
