Former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi has endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in office. Speaking during an APC end-of-year gathering at his Isan Ekiti home, Fayemi declared his family’s support for Oyebanji, emphasizing his commitment to continuity. He also welcomed potential challengers, stating, “I’m a democrat, so anyone who feels capable of contesting should come forward.”
Governor Oyebanji, meanwhile, has expressed confidence in his re-election prospects, citing his focus on governance. At a praise and worship event in Ado Ekiti, Oyebanji urged politicians to stop sending anxious messages about 2026, reaffirming his reliance on divine guidance. “God, who made it possible in 2022, will do it again,” he said, assuring citizens of his dedication to fulfilling campaign promises.
Oyebanji attributed his administration’s achievements despite economic challenges to divine intervention. He called for collective focus on governance, stressing that his political future rests in God’s hands. “Let’s concentrate on our current responsibilities; 2026 is in God’s plan,” he stated.
