“A man who had made violent threats against President Joe Biden and other officials online, Craig Robertson, was shot dead by the FBI. In a swift operation, agents attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Robertson at his residence in Utah, just hours before President Biden’s scheduled visit to the state. The incident unfolded in Provo, situated approximately 40 miles south of Salt Lake City.
Findwhosabi News highlights that a criminal complaint had detailed Robertson’s menacing messages on Facebook, which included images of firearms and explicit threats to assassinate President Biden and Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney overseeing an inquiry into a hush-money payment from former President Trump to an adult film star. The complaint also revealed threats against US Attorney General Merrick Garland and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Among his posts, Robertson chillingly wrote on Facebook: “I hear Biden is coming to Utah. Digging out my old ghillie suit and cleaning the dust off the M24 sniper rifle.” This message was one of many that showcased violent intentions and exhibited photographs of weapons on two of his Facebook accounts.
The complaint brought attention to Robertson in March, when he made a threat against Mr. Bragg on Truth Social, a social network owned by Mr. Trump, leading the company to alert the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center. Subsequently, FBI agents contacted Robertson, who dismissed the threat as a “dream” but concluded the discussion with a stern warning. This escalation in threats led to further posts in camouflage attire typically worn by snipers, persistently targeting public officials.
The dangerous rhetoric persisted until the day of the incident, with a message posted on Tuesday stating, “Perhaps Utah will become famous this week as the place a sniper took out Biden the Marxist.” The FBI’s swift action has halted a potential threat to public safety and underscores the importance of addressing online threats promptly and decisively.”
