Following the arrest of six alleged kidnapper informants in the region, there was tension among the people living in the communities of Kawu and Gaba in the Bwari region of the Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
A Kawu resident, only known as Shuaibu claimed that security personnel made the arrest on Monday afternoon during a raid at the two settlements.
“The security personnel arrived at two p.m. in two Hilux vans and arrested four people in Kawu and two more in Gaba village,” he clarified.
In the same vein, five informants of suspected kidnappers were taken into custody in Sabo village under Kuje Area Council.
The arrests took place between Saturday and Monday, according to a security source who participated in the operation but wished to remain anonymous.
He clarified, saying, “The arrests were a part of a mop-up exercise across neighboring area councils and villages in Kuje.” We managed to apprehend both indigenous people and herdsmen.
Remember that three weeks ago, two native Sabo community members, Bissalla Yusuf and Mohammed Ibrahim, were kidnapped, and their kidnappers sought a N15 million ransom. This information was revealed by City & Crime.
When reached, SP Adeh Josephine, a spokesman for the FCT Police Command, stated she had not yet received information regarding the arrests.
