The Federal Government has appealed to organized labour to show consideration and patriotism in the ongoing negotiations for a new national minimum wage. Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, urged stakeholders to recognize the nation’s economic recovery efforts and the complexity of economic challenges faced, particularly due to the pandemic.
Responding to the rejection of the government’s offer by Organized Labour, Onyejeocha emphasized the government’s commitment to securing a fair wage for Nigerian workers. She called for collective efforts to overcome economic challenges and prioritize the well-being of citizens during the recovery period. The government remains dedicated to revitalizing the economy under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
