Femi Adesina, the former Special Adviser for Media and Publicity to former President Muhammadu Buhari, has revealed that he often faced being misquoted during his eight years in service to the previous administration. Adesina made these remarks during a media chat organized by the Association of Veteran Journalists in Osogbo, Osun State.
He explained that he gradually became accustomed to dealing with this challenge after realizing that a certain section of the media would frequently quote him out of context. Adesina further shared that even during television interviews, his statements would sometimes be misrepresented in print media with the intention of portraying him as an adversary to the public.
However, he emphasized that he eventually outgrew this situation and remained focused on his role as the presidential media aide, ensuring that these misquotations did not interfere with his responsibilities throughout his tenure.
