Renowned Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Femi Otedola, has made a significant contribution of N1 billion to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF). This generous donation was officially acknowledged and received by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during a ceremony on Wednesday, where Otedola was represented by his daughter, Tolani.
The handover ceremony highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the public sector in Lagos and private philanthropy, showcasing a strong synergy for the greater good of the community.
The LSSTF, a pivotal player in providing crucial support to law enforcement agencies for nearly two decades, has consistently benefited from Otedola’s unwavering support. This latest contribution solidifies his position as the top individual contributor to the Fund.
Tolani, speaking on behalf of her father at the event, emphasized the enduring impact of the LSSTF on the state’s security framework. She also highlighted the Otedola family’s commitment to creating a safe environment for all residents of Lagos.

In her address, Tolani recognized the LSSTF’s crucial role in ensuring peace and security, particularly during the recent festive season. She attributed the success of the seamless and safe celebrations to the diligent efforts of the security services, supported by the contributions from the LSSTF.
Expressing gratitude, Tolani called upon Lagosians, especially those in the corporate and affluent sectors, to consider the value of contributing to the LSSTF. Otedola, through his daughter, emphasized that collective action is pivotal for the sustained security and prosperity of the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu’s personal presence at the event underscored the significance the state places on partnerships that enhance public welfare. The collaboration between public and private entities, as exemplified by Femi Otedola’s donation, continues to play a crucial role in fortifying Lagos State’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its residents. .
