The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially reopened the D Wing of the old international terminal at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. This reopening is part of the government’s efforts to address flight disruptions and improve the efficiency of air travel in the country.
The decision to reopen the old international terminal comes in response to the challenges faced by travelers and airlines following the sudden relocation of foreign airlines from the international terminal to a new adjoining terminal that opened in March. This relocation had caused disruptions in flight operations and passenger services.
The Minister of Aviation, Mr. Festus Keyamo, announced the reopening of the D Wing of the old terminal and emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the aviation sector and ensuring a seamless travel experience for passengers.
This move is expected to help ease the facilitation of passengers through the airport and provide relief to both airlines and travelers. The D Wing of the old terminal will complement the services provided by the new international terminal.
The decision to reopen the old terminal follows a series of developments and challenges affecting the aviation sector, including the sudden relocation of foreign carriers and a fire incident at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. The government is taking steps to address these issues and improve the overall aviation infrastructure and services in Nigeria.
