A fire outbreak on Sunday night destroyed courtroom 10 of the Kwara State High Court. The blaze, which started around 8 p.m., damaged air conditioners, a television, documents, and furniture in the courtroom.
According to the Kwara State Fire Service, the fire was caused by an electrical surge. Quick action by firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to other parts of the building, limiting the damage.
State officials, including the governor’s special adviser and the chief judge, commended the firefighters for their swift response in saving the court from further destruction.
