Five Police Officers Die in Tragic Road Accident on Zaria-Kano Road

Five officers of the Nigeria Police Force lost their lives in a tragic accident on Tuesday along the Zaria-Kano Road. The officers were part of the team deployed to Edo State for the recent governorship election and were returning from their assignment. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident, which occurred near Karfi Village, involving a trailer and a Toyota Hummer bus carrying 15 individuals. Sadly, five officers died, while ten others were injured.

According to the FRSC spokesperson, CRC Abdullahi Labaran, the accident was caused by excessive speeding, leading the bus to crash into a stationary trailer. The bus was identified as belonging to Kano Line with registration number 14B101KN. Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver lost control due to speeding, resulting in the deadly crash.

The Sector Commander, ACM Ahmed Tijjani Mohammed, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Commissioner of Police, the Nigeria Police Force, and the families of the deceased. He urged strict adherence to traffic laws, warning against speeding and overloading to prevent future tragedies on the roads.
