Reports indicate that Barcelona star player faced criticism from manager Hansi Flick after falling asleep during training.
Flick, who took over as Barcelona’s manager following Xavi Hernandez’s departure, has begun the season with an impressive run, winning all four of his La Liga matches so far.

Determined to instill discipline, the German coach has enforced strict rules within the squad. According to Mundo Deportivo, the coach didn’t hesitate to discipline one of Barcelona‘s key players for dozing off during training and subsequently missing the session.

Additionally, young talent Lamine Yamal, who gained attention during Euro 2024, recieved a warning for arriving late to a pre-training meeting. Flick reportedly greeted the late-arriving winger with a “tunnel of slaps”, aiming to set an example for the rest of the squad.

To ensure his players maintain focus, Flick introduced extra training sessions, which have proven effective. Barcelona currently sits four points clear of rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

The team’s strong start was further highlighted in their dominant 7-0 victory over Valladolid at Camp Nou, which cemented their position at the top of the La Liga with 12 points.
