Former Kano Works Commissioner is detained by the Anti-Graft Commission on suspicion of N1b fraud.

Former Kano State Works and Infrastructure Commissioner, Idris Wada Saleh, has been apprehended by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) on allegations of fraud. Saleh, who also served as the Managing Director of the Kano Road Maintenance Agency, was arrested in the state capital on Monday evening.

The PCACC accuses Saleh of embezzling over N1 billion intended for the rehabilitation of 30 roads and drainages in the state capital, without carrying out the projects as planned. Alongside Saleh, the Permanent Secretary of the Public Procurement Bureau, Mustapha Madaki Haguna, the Director of Finance, the Director of Research and Planning, and two others have also been detained in connection with the same financial misconduct.

Muhuyi Magaji Rimin-gado, Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, confirmed the arrests to Findwhosabi . He assured the public that a comprehensive statement detailing the incident would be released at a later time.
