The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, expressed deep shock and sorrow over the tragic death of a corps tow truck driver in a road traffic accident that occurred on the Karu bridge along the Nyanya-Maraba Expressway on Friday.
A statement released on Friday by Bisi Kazeem, the Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer, explained that the driver had been towing a broken-down trailer from the crash scene when the incident took place.
The statement further revealed that an investigation into the crash determined that a total of four individuals were involved, with three sustaining various degrees of injuries. Tragically, the driver of the towing truck lost his life in the accident.
Marshal Biu, deeply moved by the unfortunate incident, extended his heartfelt condolences to the entire management and staff of the Corps. He also offered prayers for the peaceful rest of the deceased’s soul.
In response to the crash, he directed the immediate removal of any obstructions caused as a result of the accident, underlining the FRSC’s commitment to ensuring road safety and prompt response to such incidents.
