FUNAAB Vindicates Student Accused of Poisoning Girlfriend

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, has reported that Oladokun Ayomide, a final-year student, had no intention of hurting Odumosu Semilore or his girlfriend, Ugbokwe Mmasichukwu.

After learning of the students’ apprehension by the Ogun State Police Command on charges of poisoning their girlfriend and another woman, the school administration issued this clarification.

Ayomide was allegedly arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for the alleged crime last Friday. They claimed that Ayomide invited them to his home in the Surulere community of the Camp area of the city and then administered a poison that was thought to be a mixture of brownie cakes, alcohol, and an unidentified harmful substance.

After consuming the cake, the female students reportedly lost consciousness. According to the police, they were taken to the hospital and were reportedly responding to treatment.
The cakes that Ayomide bought, however, “contained a high level of alcohol,” according to a statement provided to our correspondent on Thursday by Olasunkanmi Olajide, Assistant Director, Media Directorate of Public Relations, FUNAAB. As a result, the customers became inadvertently inebriated.

The school declared, “It is important to stress that all accusations made against Ayomide by the parents and the school of the affected ladies have been dropped due to the lack of malicious intent.”

he command confirmed that the pupil had been released on bail after the parents of the two students reached a settlement when contacted on Thursday through Omolola Odutola, its public relations officer.

“Bail is due to him (Ayomide). Along with being released from the hospital, the girl has made a full recovery. “The parents have reached a settlement,” she revealed in a WhatsApp chat.
