Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, Labour Party’s candidate in the 2023 Lagos governorship race, has hinted at contesting again in 2027. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Rhodes-Vivour expressed his determination to fulfill his ambition of becoming Lagos State Governor, emphasizing his commitment to the goal despite past setbacks.
While he remained non-committal about whether he would stick with the Labour Party or explore another platform, Rhodes-Vivour stressed the importance of opposition unity to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress effectively. In 2023, he secured 312,329 votes, trailing behind Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who garnered 762,134 votes.
Rhodes-Vivour noted that achieving meaningful change in Lagos requires a collective effort. He reaffirmed his focus on strengthening the Labour Party while advocating for opposition collaboration ahead of the next election.
