The Global Affairs Magazine Award honored several individuals for their outstanding contributions to the growth of entertainment and service to humanity in Nigeria. Veteran actor Kanayo O Kanayo, reggae musician Orits Wiliki, and vocalist Yinka Davies were among the awardees. Arise News’ Rufai Oseni received the award of excellence as the ‘Most Courageous Television Host’ of the year.
Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was recognized as the best politician of the year 2023, while comedian Koffi Nuel received an award of excellence for service to humanity. Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the founder of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries, was honored with a lifetime achievement award for service to humanity.
The theme for the award celebration was “A Channel of Hope Where There is Despair.” The Global Affairs Magazine Award aims to celebrate and reward individuals who have made selfless and positive impacts on others, especially in areas such as health, support for the less privileged, physically challenged individuals, and children with special needs. The event also marked the launch of the GAM Foundation, dedicated to addressing the needs of the needy in society.
