Go Back To Nollywood, We Dont Need You – Labour Party Blast Okonkwo For Dumping Party Cuts

The Labour Party (LP) has confirmed that Kenneth Okonkwo, its former Presidential Campaign Council spokesman, is no longer a member of the party. LP National Secretary Umar Farouk stated this in response to Okonkwo’s resignation announcement and his critique of the party’s readiness for the 2027 elections due to leadership conflicts.

Okonkwo, who announced his resignation effective February 25, 2025, accused LP’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, of prioritizing personal interests and hindering party preparations. He also claimed that the Nenadi Usman-led Caretaker Committee was being obstructed by political litigation. Okonkwo hinted at joining another platform to pursue his vision for good governance in Nigeria.

Farouk dismissed Okonkwo’s remarks as attention-seeking, asserting that Okonkwo had previously resigned months ago. He further suggested that Okonkwo should return to his Nollywood career instead of stirring party controversies. “He doesn’t deserve to be in any political party because he is not a good politician,” Farouk added.
