In President Ahmed Tinubu’s pursuit of effective leadership and good governance, Dr. Garus Gololo, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has offered suggestions on how to propel the party forward. Gololo, a former army officer, expressed his discontent with APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu and former Zamfara State governor Senator Abdul-aziz Yari, criticizing their recent roles within the party.
Regarding Yari’s threat to leave the APC due to a leadership dispute in the Senate, Gololo dismissed it as insignificant. He deemed Yari’s actions as futile and suggested that the party would not be bothered, as it may result in their expulsion from the National Assembly by their constituents.
Gololo expressed surprise at the current state of affairs within the ruling party following their victory in the National Assembly elections. He emphasized that the party would not miss those who are rumored to be leaving, particularly Yari, whom he labeled as a troublemaker. Gololo recalled previous incidents during Yari’s tenure as the caretaker chairman of the party, noting his lack of political charisma and academic qualifications compared to Senator Akpabio.
Regarding the rumored defection of Yari and his associates to opposition parties, Gololo appealed to Yari to humble himself and remain loyal to the APC leadership. He criticized Yari’s track record as the governor of Zamfara State, citing his treatment of his political benefactor, Senator Yerima, and his refusal to accept defeat in the Senate election.
Commenting on the APC national chairman, Gololo regarded Senator Adamu as a failure who disappointed the party, even losing in his own polling unit. Gololo expressed disappointment in Adamu’s inability to secure a House of Representatives seat or even a single senatorial seat in Nasarawa State. He questioned the caliber of politicians holding national positions and concluded that Adamu should leave the party due to his ineffectiveness.
