The Gombe State House of Assembly has postponed the screening of Commissioner-nominees sent by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya. The screening exercise was initially scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday but was postponed due to the strike declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress.
The Governor had submitted a list of 17 Commissioner-nominees to the House for approval on July 28. The nominees, consisting of two females and 15 males, will now be screened on September 7 and 8, 2023, in light of the strike action.
The postponement allows for the rescheduling of the screening process to accommodate the ongoing labor strike, ensuring that the nominees are screened at a more suitable time.
