The news was shared by fellow actor Oluwaseun Adejumobi on Instagram, expressing sorrow at the loss of this beloved figure in Christian drama. Baba Gbenro’s passing followed a long battle with liver disease, leaving fans and colleagues mourning his departure.
Moses Korede Are was a key figure in gospel cinema, serving as the founder and International President of Calvary Movies Drama Ministry, established in Ogbomoso, Nigeria, in 1995. He was dedicated to using drama evangelism to share the gospel message, and his contributions reached audiences across Nigeria and beyond. Additionally, he held the position of CEO at Calvary Movies Television, an online platform for Christian drama and evangelistic content.

Renowned for his performances alongside figures like Toluwalope Israel Adegbo and Damilola Mike Bamiloye, Baba Gbenro brought depth to his roles, especially in Abattoir.
